Project 2: Brito-Soleto, July 9th - July 10th (724 SE 33rd St)

Description

Project 2: Brito-Sotelo / 7.9 - 7.10

For the past 20 years, Ms. Brito-Sotelo has called her house home. This project is about more than home repairs—it's about helping a longtime homeowner remain safely in the place she loves. The project includes replacing eight windows, installing new vinyl siding with any necessary sheathing repairs, replacing trim around the windows and giving it a fresh coat of paint, and inspecting the roof to make needed repairs. We will also install two new entry doors and storm doors with new trim, remove and reinstall gutters as needed during the siding installation, and complete important interior improvements. Inside the home, volunteers will repair drywall, install new doors for the water heater, closet, and bathroom, strengthen and repair the subfloor, and replace damaged flooring with durable luxury vinyl plank in the repaired areas. Every volunteer who lends a hand will make a lasting difference in Ms. Brito-Sotelo's life and help ensure her home remains a safe and welcoming place for years to come.
