Project 3: Striplin 4.16 – 4.18
Ms. Striplin has lived in her home for 25 years and takes pride in it, especially since it sits on a corner lot. However, due to health issues and financial limitations, she has been unable to keep up with maintenance. She is 66 years old, retired (with a part-time job at Braum’s), and has a large family—3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She enjoys cooking, bowling, darts, vacations, and family gatherings.
Repairs needed include:
- Replace siding (with smart siding) and exterior trim around windows
- Repainting the exterior
- Repair/replace damaged gutters (west side)
- Replace 2 entry doors and add storm doors
- Repair 2 windowpanes
- Replace interior trim damaged by termites (laundry area)
- Replace 2 ceiling fans
- Trim bushes around the house
- Service the HVAC system
She learned about the program through the website and is very grateful, saying it will help her accomplish repairs she could not do on her own. She also expressed deep appreciation for the volunteers, calling them a blessing.
