Volunteer Opportunities From: Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity

Volunteer: Project 2: Coate, Feb. 12th - Feb. 14th (1608 McGregor Dr. MWC)

Ms. Coate has spent her life working hard, but medical challenges and a limited income make it difficult for her to maintain her home. Her roof is urgently in need of repair, but our project will go beyond that to improve safety and comfort throughout her house.

Volunteers will help install a front entrance ramp, replace posts as needed, and address plumbing issues, including converting her bathtub into a shower and updating the bathroom vanity and toilet if necessary. Other repairs include fixing drywall in the bedroom, replacing the roof, installing a new heat pump and condenser for the HVAC system, updating fascia and soffits with exterior painting as needed, and replacing the rear entry and garage doors. Your help will make a real difference in Ms. Coate’s life, ensuring she can live safely and comfortably in her home.

Volunteer: Project 4: Murphy, Feb. 26th - Feb. 28th (8209 John St. Spencer)

This family has lived in their home for 15years and has reached out for help to make it a safer, more comfortable place to continue building their lives together. With the help of volunteers, these repairs will make a lasting difference in the family’s safety and quality of life.

The work includes replacing ten windows, repairing subflooring in the kitchen and bathroom, and installing new vinyl flooring in those areas. We’ll also add handrails at the front and back entrances, convert a tub into a walk-in shower with grab bars, replace kitchen and bathroom faucets, update ceiling fans, make drywall repairs, and service the HVAC system, including vent repairs or replacements as needed.
